This property for sale is located in the province of Brescia, by one of Lake Iseo's most evocative and panoramic sides.
The castle dates back to the 15th century: it was built as a fortress by the Oldofredi family and then passed to the Martinego family; among their guests there was the last queen of Cyprus: Catherine Cornaro.
The property is in good conditions, it has a square layout and it is surrounded by old towers which were once a strategic observation point against enemies.
The estate's 550m2 surface is spread over four levels: the ground and first floors are home to the living area, with large halls and living room, while the second and third floor are occupied by the sleeping area, with a total of six bedrooms. The interiors of this estate for sale have kept traces of its past in its barrel vaults or in some details of the stables and porticos
The outside of the castle also has a surface of around 5.200 m2; here you can find a park with a view over the lake and admire the small island of St. Paul
The estate also features a large terrace directly overlooking the lake, the perfect place to organize excellent dinners with friends or simply to relax while drinking a cocktail.
This ancient estate is full of charm: surrounded by nature and located in a panoramic position overlooking the lake, but close to Northern Italy's main cities.

Lake Iseo

Located near Lake Iseo, Brescia is delimited by the area of Franciacorta to the West, the Prealpi Bresciane to the North, and by the Prealpi Ardesane to the East.
Brescia is distinguished by different architectural styles that have developed over centuries. The considerable artistic and archeological heritage that constitutes its historic centre is shaped by its numerous monuments that date from antiquity to this day.
In 2011 some of the city's monuments were declared UNESCO world heritage sites, while in 2008 the city won the “La città per il verde” (a city for green) prize thanks to its many green areas and parks. There are many luxury villas in the city and in the surrounding areas, particularly near the shores of Lake Iseo.
In recent years, there has also been an increase in tourism and in the summer of 2016 Christo's “The Floating Piers” was installed, attracting a huge number of visitors from all over the world.
